Set up an herb/tomato garden
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun as Patel College student Adrian leads a team of volunteers from the United Way and the Patel College of Global Sustainability set up an herb/tomato garden for the culinary arts students at Greco. Students will use the fresh greens, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes in the meals they prepare for classroom assignments.
Temple Terrace Farm2School is a non-profit service organization that builds and support school gardens. School budgets have been cut this year and so this will be a much needed source of materials for Greco's culinary arts teacher to have for students to use in the dishes they cook.
Greco is a Title I school with many students learning about health eating for the first time through this culinary arts program.
