At the UWS Sulphur Springs Resource Center (SSRC) in Tampa, we're improving and empowering neighborhoods to create success and change through collaboration and involvement with the community. SSRC is continuously at the core of the neighborhood's support systems and has become part of the fabric of the community and the people it represents.
Volunteers will be creating notes of encouragement and assembling Self-Care Kits that will be distributed to members of the Safe to Be Me teen support group. This group was the idea of a few teens in the Sulphur Springs Community who felt that they needed a safe space to share, grow and support each other. Currently the group consists of are nine young ladies who are between the ages of 14-18. The kits will provide items that will empower and encourage the girls to take time for self-care.
