Fill the Backpacks [PIN]
This is a request for supplies. The Child Protection Team at Suncoast Center serves approximately 100 children every month who have been victims of child abuse and neglect. Often, children are removed from their abusive situations as a result of the Child Protection Team’s investigation. These children may not have the opportunity to go home that evening to retrieve a favorite stuffed animal or familiar clothing to assist in the transition to an emergency shelter or foster home. For many of the children being removed, they will be carrying their belongings for the night in a plastic bag. The Child Protection Team would like to provide children with backpacks filled with a change of clothes, snacks, educational reading material and a stuffed animal to help them cope with one of the toughest days of their lives. We are looking for items such as: boys and girls clothing (T-Shirts, sweatpants or shorts – all sizes), snacks, educational reading materials, and backpacks.
