Teens age 16-17 are required to attend with an adult.

Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks at the shelter, which may include the following:
 
  • Socialize, exercise and play with dogs of all sizes outdoors in the play yard, let dogs out and back into their kennels and supervise all dogs to maintain safety.
  • Clean any dirty kennels and dispose of any waste that is left by dogs in the yard.
  • Assist with dishes, laundry and dog bathing as needed.
  • Dog volunteers must to able to handle large dogs.
  • Socialize and play with cats & kittens and be aware of cat behavior.
  • Clean litter boxes and tidy the cat room, making sure cats have toys and clean water.
  • Volunteers must be able to bend and stoop.
  • Help with feeding.
  • Mop floors and/or general cleaning.

Individuals volunteer at Pet Pal for the first time will need to print and fill out this Pet Pal information form and bring to the project. 

Please make sure to wear closed toed shoes and park on street (not in parking lot).
