Camp Kangaroo [HIL]
Camp Kangaroo is a free camp experience providing a supportive and therapeutic environment for children who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
Led by Dedicated Professionals and trained volunteers from Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Camp Kangaroo provides a unique opportunity for campers to build relationships with one another helping them to feel less alone in their loss. Participants will receive grief education and emotional support combined with fun camp activities.
Volunteers Needed:
We are looking for high energy, compassionate individuals to volunteer as Roo Buddies or as Camp Volunteers. Roo Buddies are assigned to one group all weekend and support the trained counselors throughout the eight group sessions. Camp Volunteers assist with the following:
Assist Counselors during scheduled activities
Assist children with various activities
Meal Prep/Serving/Set-Up/Tear Down
Arts & Crafts
Sports Activities
Training Requirements:
- Virtual Modules
- Training
- Background/Fingerprints (paid for by Seasons)
- Training will be held 2 weeks prior to Camp
DATES
Friday, November 1: 5:00PM – 8:30PM
Saturday, November 2: 8:30AM – 5:00PM
Sunday, November 3: 1:00PM – 6:00PM
