Hillsborough County College Night, Sickles High School [HIL]
Hillsborough County high schools host 4 county-wide college nights. They are very well attended as they are free and draw more than 100 colleges, universities and technical colleges – and represent out-of-state, in-state, public and private institutions. They provide a perfect opportunity for volunteers to speak with families about the LEAP website which provides a wealth of information about the college application process and FAFSA completion -- its importance and where to seek support to complete it. Volunteers will man a table with LEAP information and handouts and answer questions. Set-up will include using the LEAP tablecloth and setting up the banner. When possible, volunteers pick up the banner and materials from Community Foundation of Tampa Bay (4300 W. Cypress St., Ste 700, Tampa FL 33607) before the event and return the materials there after the event. Otherwise, LEAP staff will arrange to drop off and pick up the materials with one of the volunteers before the event or meet volunteers at the event.
