Open Streets Manatee [MAN]
In conjunction with the Sarasota Manatee MPO and Florida Department of Transportation, a portion of 10th Avenue West, in Palmetto, will be closed for citizens to bike, walk, skate, or boogie down the street without fear of vehicular traffic. The event will feature safety demonstrations, health and wellness demonstrations, and a variety of local vendors and food trucks to enjoy!
Goals of the event include to...
*Provide a safe car-free and care-free environment
*Promote awareness of cycling and walking as acceptable and safe modes of transportation
*Encourage public involvement on increasing mobility options in Manatee County
*Provide a unique and free experience for all to enjoy.
United Way Suncoast is proud to partner with this initiative. Volunteers will distribute water, oversee stations, assist with parking (if 18 or older), and more.
