Warehouse/Donations Organizer [HIL]
Home Makers of Hope provides essential furnishings and household items to families struggling with poverty. Furnishing a home is expensive for anyone, but especially for families suffering hardships or returning from homelessness. After paying for basic needs such as food, rent and utilities, there is usually little left to buy beds or furniture. We make a home for these families by providing linens and beds to sleep on, fully equipping their kitchens where families can have meals together and decorating living areas to encourage family time.
Warehouse volunteers assist the Family Liaisons and other team members by helping to locate the "tagged" items needed for the families for delivery that day. They also help sort through the donations of linens, dishes, bathroom items, and decorations, shelving them into the appropriate places. These volunteers also help keep the shelves organized and clean. This activity occurs every Tuesday from 9:00-1:00.
Safety Protocols:
- UWS volunteers are required to follow the safety protocols provided on-site by project leaders (including face masks and social distancing) and are advised to follow CDC guidelines.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
