VITA 2021 USF FSA Site (Virtual) Tax Preparer (HIL)
Tax Preparer (Virtual) – Must pass Advanced IRS Certification, the Volunteer Standards of Conduct Exam and the Intake/Interview & Quality Review Exam. Must have attended both IRS and UWS Orientations. Complete and successfully certify in tax law training, including the use of electronic filing software, to provide free tax return preparation for eligible taxpayers. Take direction from the Site Coordinator to serve taxpayers in order of appointments virtually. Interview taxpayers after intake is complete. Prepare tax returns with accuracy. Inform Site Coordinator/Quality Reviewer when return is complete, or questions arise. Report volunteer hours using virtual hour tracking template. If you must cancel your shift, please contact the site coordinator immediately. You will not be allowed to print any documents. You must be efficient with technology and have the knowledge of using webcam for virtual meetings. ***Foreign Student Certification a Plus for appointments after March 15th!***
