Voices' Diaper Drive Thru - Week of Caring 2021 [PIN]
Voices for Children, a Division of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Child Protection, keeps a supply of essential items (diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, car seats, pack n' plays, door alarms and other emergency need items) that child protective investigators can access 24/7 when they are on call.
Providing these items can sometimes be enough to keep children out of foster care if families are just struggling to provide essentials. In other cases, if children need to be removed from their parents due to abuse or neglect, placing the children with safe, loving grandparents, aunts and uncles is always a priority. However, if the relatives do not have appropriate supplies on hand, they are unable to take custody of children.
Volunteers are needed to receive items through a no contact, drive through delivery at the Sheriff's Office. A tent, water, snacks and masks will be available for the volunteers. While this volunteer opportunity will occur completely outside, mask wearing and social distancing will be strictly enforced.
We typically allow for one volunteer per shift, however if two individuals from the same household would like to volunteer together, that is permitted (needs to be approved in advance, please contact the volunteer leader below).
Volunteer projects for Week of Caring will be following CDC guidelines regarding face masks and social distancing.
T-shirts will be provided on-site by United Way Suncoast. Volunteers will be asked for their t-shirt size when registering below.
