ReadingPals in Hillsborough & Pinellas Counties
ReadingPals is a program designed to assist students as they learn to read. Over the course of the year (including summer), this program is offering fun, innovative, and educational mentoring for kindergarten through 3rd grade students at schools and community sites throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. As a volunteer ReadingPal, you will READ to your student, LISTEN and support them while they read and PLAY literacy based games and activities. In addition to helping students to improve their reading skills, ReadingPals also helps to create a love of reading!
ReadingPals commit to meet regularly, one-on-one, for one hour a week with a child. Volunteer positions require a background screening and an orientation to prepare you to work with students. There are 6 after school sites to choose from across Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
