The Event date and time you are looking for is no longer available.

Please join us for a 9/11 Day of Remembrance and Service. United Way Suncoast's volunteer center will be honoring those that lost their lives on 9/11/01 and those that have continued to protect our country. We will hold our event at the Bay Pines VA campus in Pinellas County.

This year we will join together to compassionately honor and remember the 2,975 individuals who were killed on September 11, 2001, in the terrorist attacks on America, as well as those who were injured during the attacks, and the many who rose in service in response, the first responders, volunteers, rescue and recovery workers, uniformed safety personal, and the hundreds of thousands of others who serve, or have served in our armed forces here at home or overseas.

We will gather at Bay Pines VA on September 8th for breakfast and then a kick-off to get everyone started. Then over 200 volunteers will gather in groups to go around the campus doing scheduled projects. The projects include: plant bed maintenance, making cards, sorting donated items for Veterans and their families, cleaning the shuttles, shoreline clean-up and general campus maintenance, etc.

All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Regardless of project, all volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. For this project you do not need to be a HandsOn Suncoast volunteer as an orientation will be available on site that day.
