SEPTEMBER 11TH WEEK OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE

As we reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, community partners, and organizations who came together during our Week of Service and Remembrance to honor the lives impacted by that day through meaningful acts of service.

Throughout the week, volunteers participated in projects across our region that embodied the spirit of unity, compassion, and service that continues to define this national day of remembrance. A special thank you goes to the volunteers who participated in our First Responder Appreciation Kit activation at the Mayors Food Truck Fiesta, where 300 appreciation kits were assembled to recognize and thank the first responders who serve and protect our communities every day. We are also grateful for the partnership of Emma E. Booker Elementary School, one of our schools of focus, during this significant anniversary year. As many remember, students at Emma E. Booker were listening to a story from President Bush when the events of September 11 unfolded 25 years ago. Volunteers honored this connection by reading with students and painting rocks for the school's 9/11 Memorial Garden, helping create a meaningful tribute that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and talents to carry forward the spirit of service and remembrance. Together, we honored the heroes, first responders, service members, and all those affected by September 11 by making a positive difference in the communities we serve.
