VITA 2026 IRS Certification Virtual: Jan 4 (2+ years experience)

Volunteers with 2+ years of VITA experience are invited to join a 1-hour virtual training session designed to support IRS certification exam preparation and strengthen the quality of service provided to taxpayers.

This fast-paced session focuses on:​

• Reviewing key federal tax law changes applicable to individuals
• Ensuring accurate preparation of basic and advanced tax returns in compliance with IRS guidelines

Note: This session does not include hands-on instruction with IRS-approved tax software.

Volunteers who have already completed their Advanced Scenarios but have not yet completed the Advanced Exam may use this session to review their answers in class before submitting them online.

Answers will not be provided during the session, but the keywords and IRS Publication 4012 pages where answers are found will be reviewed. Please do not attend unless you have completed your Advanced Scenarios and have taken solid notes on how and where you found your Advanced Exam answers.  

Certification Opportunity- At the end of the session, volunteers will have the opportunity to complete the IRS certification Advanced Exam

• This training is intended for Tax Preparers and Site Coordinators only.
• Do not register for multiple training series.
• A session link will be emailed a few days before the first session.
• Registration closes 24 hours prior to the start of the session.
• If the session is full, join the waitlist to be notified if a spot becomes available.
