VITA 2026 Tax Preparer Orientation: Hillsborough
Orientation is required for all volunteers who prepare taxes with the program.
This 2-hour in-person session is designed to prepare volunteers for their vital role in supporting underserved communities through free tax preparation services.
Supported by the IRS, this orientation provides a comprehensive overview of:
- Your responsibilities as a VITA Tax Preparer Updates to current tax laws
- Quality assurance, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Client interaction skills and cultural competency
- Code of conduct and problem-solving techniques
- Teamwork and the importance of ongoing learning throughout the tax season
- Do not register for multiple sessions.
- Registration closes 24 hours prior to the session.
- If the session is full, please join the waitlist to be notified if a spot becomes available.

- Time: 10 am – 12 pm
- Hillsborough Location: United Way Suncoast Tampa Office, Foundation Square II, 4925 Independence Pkwy, Suite 120, Tampa FL 33634.
- Parking: Limited guest parking is available directly in front of the building. Additional parking is available in the garage located just south of the building. Please avoid any reserved spots.
