VITA 2026 IRS Orientation In-Person: Jan 8 & 9

Orientation is required for all volunteers who prepare taxes with the program. 
This 2-hour in-person session is designed to prepare volunteers for their vital role in supporting underserved communities through free tax preparation services.
Supported by the IRS, this orientation provides a comprehensive overview of:

  • Your responsibilities as a VITA Tax Preparer Updates to current tax laws
  • Quality assurance, confidentiality, and ethical standards
  • Client interaction skills and cultural competency
  • Code of conduct and problem-solving techniques
  • Teamwork and the importance of ongoing learning throughout the tax season 
Please Note: This session is intended for Tax Preparers only.  
  • Do not register for multiple sessions.
  • Registration closes 24 hours prior to the session.

  • Part I- Thursday, January 8, 2026
  • Part II- Friday, January 9, 2026
  • Time: 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm
  • Pinellas Location: Stetson Law, 1401 61st St S, Gulfport, FL - Florin Roebig Courtroom
  • Parking: Visitor parking is located between 61st St S and 15th Ave S.
  • Walking Direction to Florin Roebig Courtroom: Start at Crummer Courtyard, located centrally on campus near the Commons (Look for the fountain) (often referred to as the Horseshoe). Look for signage directing you to Building CR (Courtroom). The Florin Roebig Courtroom is located within this building. 
Important Orientation Notice: This is the only orientation session that is divided into two parts. To receive full credit, attendance at both sessions is required.
