Student Volunteer Influencer: MLK Jr. Week of Service 2026

United Way Suncoast is excited to share this opportunity with one of our strategic community partners as part of our annual MLK Jr. Week of Service.
Volunteers for this opportunity will need to attend a virtual training early January (details below).
Learn and Serve Tampa bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world impact, helping schools and educators integrate service as a powerful tool for academic and personal growth.
This is an opportunity for students to become Volunteer Influencers who would share the Students Rebuild Unique & United Challenge with other youth in their school, club, or other group. Volunteer Influencers will:

• Identify an adult (teacher, club sponsor, etc.) to oversee and guide the student volunteers on their project.
• Attend a virtual training during the first week of January to learn about Students Rebuild (tentative date is Jan 7 or 8 in the afternoon and will last one hour).
• Identify a group of youth (a class, club, etc.) and attain adult permission to share a prepared presentation and lead youth in the creative expression activity. 
• Take photographs of volunteer/student work to submit post-project.
• Lead their projects on either Thursday, January 15, Friday, January 16, or Tuesday, January 20.

This is a great opportunity to learn about philanthropy and gain experience with leadership opportunities, public speaking and presentation skills. 
This opportunity is open to students ages 12-18 in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
