Food Sorting at Feeding Tampa Bay: MLK Jr. Week of Service 2026 [HIL]

United Way Suncoast is excited to share this opportunity with one of our strategic community partners as part of our annual MLK Jr. Week of Service.

Nearly 1 million people in our community are just one layoff, tragedy or disaster away from needing assistance. These hard-working neighbors need more than a meal. They need a community that champions our collective success.

Volunteers will sort donated food at their local food bank, which serves 10 counties in West Central Florida.

Additional Reminders:

  • ALL volunteers MUST wear closed-toe shoes (i.e. sneakers) for warehouse safety. Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed to volunteer.
  • Recommended attire includes shirts with sleeves (no tank-tops), and jeans or shorts of appropriate length.
  • They provide all orientation on site at the start of your service.
  • Hydration will be provided on site for volunteers. If you wish to have a snack during the shift, feel free to bring one along.

If you have not previously volunteered with Feeding Tampa Bay, please fill out their liability waiver prior to the start of your upcoming shift: Volunteer Liability Waiver.
