Create and Assemble Literacy Kits: MLK Jr. Week of Service 2026 [SAR]
Each year, United Way Suncoast celebrates Dr. King’s life and legacy through the MLK Jr. Week of Service in January. This year will mark the 29th anniversary of this national volunteer event where communities are encouraged to make his holiday “a day on, not a day off.”
This volunteer project follows Dr. King's wisdom, focusing on education and culture. Volunteers will assemble various activities and then create literacy kits that includes a children's book focused on equality and justice.
This project will take place on the campus of one of our funded partners, the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (Roy McBean Club in Sarasota).
Registration for this opportunity closes at 4pm on Wednesday, January 14th.
Thank you for volunteering!
