Teaching Tools Store: MLK Jr. Week of Service 2026 [HIL]
United Way Suncoast is excited to share this opportunity with one of our strategic community partners as part of our annual MLK Jr. Week of Service.
The Teaching Tools Resource Center at the Hillsborough Education Foundation provides free school supplies, classroom materials, and instructional resources to help teachers and students. By easing the financial burden many educators take on to buy supplies for students in need, the center helps create stronger, more supportive learning environments.
Volunteers tasks may include:
- Restocking shelves for shopping
- Lifting boxes to restock
- Breaking down boxes for recycling
- Doing projects (example: bagging pencils, making journals)
- Sorting, counting and stickering donated items
- Wear comfortable clothes
- Wear closed-toed shoes
- Bring a refillable water bottle
The partner for this project, Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF), requires all volunteers to join the United Way Suncoast user group on their volunteer website, GetConnected.
