Disaster Resilience Kit Assembly: Hillsborough & Sarasota

As the 2026 hurricane season nears, United Way Suncoast has received another Disaster Resilience Grant from Verizon, following a reward in 2025. The funding comes through a United Way Worldwide initiative to continue ensuring our service area is better prepared for emergencies, building more resilient, stronger communities in the face of future disasters. 
This summer, we are looking for volunteers to assemble 6,000 disaster kits containing vital supplies through partnerships with Feeding Tampa Bay (Hillsborough) and All Faiths Food Bank (Sarasota). 
Volunteers interested in assembling kits must register through one of the links listed below:
Wednesday, July 29: Feeding Tampa Bay (When you click the link below, scroll down to the July 29th date on the Feeding Tampa Bay page to sign up)
Feeding Tampa Bay shifts are currently full but you can be added to the waitlist.

• 9:00am-11:30am Shift
• 1:00pm-3:30pm Shift

Friday, July 31: All Faiths Food Bank: This opportunity is limited to 20 volunteers, so early sign-up is encouraged. See registrations steps below:

• Click the shift time below to visit the All Faiths Food Bank (AFFB) scheduling page:
• 9:00am-12:00pm Shift
• You’ll be prompted to create an AFFB volunteer account
• Review and accept the terms and conditions
• When asked about orientation, select: “I am volunteering with a group on a specific date”
• This allows you to skip the orientation requirement
• Your account will be marked as pending until approved by AFFB (typically within 24 business hours)
• Check your email (and spam folder) for confirmation
• Once approved, return to the opportunity link and register for your shift
