Volunteers will help out with general clean-up of kennels and cat rooms. Help is also needed in socializing with cats and dogs. There will also be general gardening.

Feeding America Tampa Bay [Hil]

Feeding America Tampa Bay believes that every single person can do something to help end hunger in America. Whether it is one dollar or one hour, you can make an enormous difference in the lives of hungry women, men and children served by their network. Our volunteers will sort donated food at our local food bank, which serves 10 counties in West Central Florida. Before signing up for this project by clicking on "Sign up for this project", any volunteer under the age of 18 will also need to print out a minor release form for this project. The volunteer's parent or guardian must sign it. Bring the completed form with you to the project.

Whispering Oaks Bingo Party [Hil]

Play bingo and have an ice cream social with the elderly/disabled patients. Before signing up for this project by clicking on “Sign up for this project”, any volunteer under the age of 18 will also need to print out a minor release form for this project. Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools [HIL]

Do you have a passion for helping connect kids to greatness? If so, Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools needs your help! A program through the Hillsborough Education Foundation provides free school supplies year-round to economically disadvantaged students attending Hillsborough County Public Schools designated as Title I. Ensure that the classrooms in Hillsborough County have the basic tools for learning. Volunteers will assist teachers in shopping for a variety of items. Minors 13+ may volunteer with an adult. Must be 15 to volunteer alone on this project. Ronald McDonald House [Hil]

Come try out your culinary talents at The House, a "home away from home" for families of children who are patients of local hospitals. Help make them a home cooked meal after a long day. The Project Leader will contact you with items you can bring for the meal. A minor 14+ may attend this project with an adult. To register a volunteer under the age of 18, the parent needs to create a team through their online profile. The teen would then be added as a team member. The parent can then sign up as a team and it will automatically add the teen to the project.

Ronald McDonald House [Pin]

Meals On Wheels [Hil]

Volunteers will be working together in a kitchen to put a variety of food cups, and many other things that will later be delivered to the homebound clients. Before signing up for this project by clicking on “Sign up for this project”, any volunteer under the age of 18 will also need to print out a minor release form for this project. The volunteer’s parent or guardian must sign it. Bring the completed form with you to the project. Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, and pants (no shorts) to work in the kitchen. No tank tops are allowed. PLEASE NOTE: this project relies on a full shift of volunteers to complete the assigned tasks. It is important that you remove yourself from the project if you can no longer attend so someone else has the chance to sign up. Thank you!

Urban Organic Community Garden at A Bridge of Hope Teen Transition Center [HIL]

A Bridge of Hope Teen Transition Center will create an organic community garden on the Day of Caring with the United Way. This project will give our youth who have behavioral issues, daily activity, and a sense of responsibility. This project will also help residents in the community to have fresh and wholesome garden foods where otherwise, these foods are not readily available in the neighborhood. The community garden will help with fundraising to help provide more activities and field trips for our troubled teens.

Hope Lodge Game Night [Hil]

Volunteers will host a game night at the Lodge. The Hope Lodge is a place that houses cancer patients and their care takers for free while the patients are receiving treatment. Volunteers 15 to 18 can do this project with a parent/guardian. But must be 18 to do this alone.

Hillsborough District Financial Aid Night [HIL]

Help students and parents get FREE MONEY for education by assisting with FAFSA Completion in local High Schools. Our goal is to have 60% of working age adults (25-64) in our community hold a degree or certificate by 2025. To reach that goal, we need your help! Adult volunteers assist students and their families in completing FAFSA forms. Financial Aid Nights are held in Tampa Bay high schools to ensure students have the assistance and information available for form completion. Volunteers for this event must have viewed the online training video, completed the online application for volunteering in Pinellas and/or Hillsborough Counties and received notification from the school district or LEAP Tampa Bay that they have been approved for volunteering. Once you arrive at the school, follow the signs to the Financial Aid Night and introduce yourself to the Counselor. Then, begin assisting students/families with the FAFSA. If possible, please take a photograph of the volunteers and counselors (try to get yourself in there as well). Meeting Room Makeover [SAR]

Volunteers needed to beautify 2 meeting rooms at The Florida Center for Early Childhood. Get instant satisfaction from removing the old wallpaper in the Starfish Academy preschool's meeting room. Then help add some color painting the walls and baseboards. Painting also needed in the administrative building's conference room.
