The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program connects low-to-moderate income residents in the Suncoast Region with trained volunteer tax preparers who file their tax returns for free. This is a great opportunity for you, your friends, family, or co-workers to make a difference in our community by ensuring Suncoast households receive quality tax preparation services.

If you are interested in becoming a VITA volunteer, please follow the steps below.

Step One: United Way Suncoast Volunteer Account

Returning volunteers: Log in to your UWS Volunteer Account by clicking the yellow “log in” button at the top right corner of this page.
New Volunteers: Register to become a UWS Volunteer by creating a volunteer account here.

Step Two: Complete the Volunteer Interest Form

Volunteers who fail to complete the Volunteer Interest Form will not be informed about crucial notifications related to the VITA program.

Step Three: Self Certification
